A few more words...

on the development of a quality cost estimate.

The right knowledge and experience are essential for successful cost estimating. However, having a process to ensure desirable results is equally crucial. One may possess the knowledge but lack the experience to apply it through a process. This course offers comprehensive on-the-job cost estimating training to help acquire that experience. The course provides guidance through all the steps to build a cost estimate and how to assemble them. Through the assignments in this course, you will replicate the work and gain hands-on experience in cost estimating.

A word from the training program creator

Doina Dobre, P.Eng., GSC

This course can be seen as a culmination of all cost estimating courses offered on this website but at a more accelerated pace. Its best feature is that it simulates the complete cycle of cost estimate development, providing workshop-style on-the-job training. Developing a cost estimate is a step-by-step process, and missing a step can lead to undesired results. Lack of proper planning, not necessarily lack of knowledge, is usually the culprit. If you have never completed a cost estimate from start to finish, you may struggle to allocate time to each task. This course provides practice in building a process and accurately assessing the level of effort required to complete a cost estimate.
