How difficult is it to learn construction cost estimating?

Not as difficult as one might believe; this training program will prove to you just that. All courses are designed to incorporate the following:

  • Information Flow

    From building the foundation of cost estimating knowledge, to methods and principles, to best practices and habit making through practice assignments, we make sure you capture and understand all the steps of the cost estimating process, in detail.

  • Information Format

    This is the key feature. We structured the information, so each course is designed to fill in a specific building block in the cost estimating knowledge. The lessons are purposely short and to the point, to increase the information retention.

  • Practice Assignments

    You will be spending more time on practice assignments than on the lesson content. In fact, about 70% of the time required to complete a course can be attributed to the practice assignments.

  • Group Discussions

    Each lesson has a group discussion, moderated by the course instructor. Ask questions as you go through the lesson content, interact with other course participants, or ask for clarifications on the practice assignments.

  • Hand-marked Assignments

    All practice assignments are marked by the instructor. On each assignment, you will receive feedback from the course instructor. We do not believe in the cookie-cutter assignment marking method; thus, our response to you will always be specific to you.

  • Professional Accreditation

    This training program is structured to provide all participants, upon successful completion of select courses or bundles, a completion certificate that credits towards the Gold Seal Certification Program. (Pending application review.)

Doina Dobre, P.Eng., GSC

I am a senior cost consultant with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, within Europe and North America. I designed this training program based on my 20+ years of cost estimating expertise. Through my cost consulting practice and the years of experience as a senior cost estimator for general contractors, I developed my cost estimating skills by working on many types of projects through all project life cycle stages.
